| 5000 | 490.33 |
Multiply by 0.0980665 — in practice, divide by about 10.2. 100 kgf·cm is 9.81 N·m, 50 kgf·cm is 4.90 N·m and 1,000 kgf·cm is 98.1 N·m. kgf·m is 100 times larger than kgf·cm, so 10 kgf·m is 98.1 N·m.
kgf·cm and kgf·m remain common in Japanese motorcycle and outboard-motor manuals, in older Asian machinery documentation and on many small electric screwdrivers and torque drivers. Check which of the two a manual uses before converting; mixing them up is a factor of 100 error.
